About Me

With me integrity matters above all. I aim to offer a top class service. I aim to be the best, but recognise I am not there, yet. But I have started on my journey towards being exceptional, rather than average.

I worked in the Engineering and Construction Industry for 45 years as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. My work involved a lot of travel, and a lot of personal sacrifice. It was not always easy being away from home. Although I worked in many good environments, in every team there can be challenges. You work with people who have different goals, often in conflict with your own. My views about leadership are totally different from most. I strongly believe the team leader serves and supports the team. I know the worst leaders are dictators and micro managers who give no freedom to the team. I disliked that style of leadership.

Life has taught me not to hold grudges, and especially not to tolerate unforgiveness or bitterness in my own life. It harms only the host.

Being thankful is powerful. Most of us have a warm bed to sleep in, and are warm and well fed. We sometimes make the mistake of taking our health for granted. I believe in being thankful, and in being grateful. I have founf there is much power in giving thanks, even when circumstances are difficult, and that the difficult circumnstances tend to change when we adopt an attitude of gratitude. Grumbing and complaining is unwise.
